There might be many reasons why you need to factory reset your iPhone 11. Perhaps you just want to give it that out-of-the-box feel. Or, you might be having issues with your phone, and as always, one of the ways to get rid of them is to erase everything on your device and start all over. Regardless of the reason, we will show you how to factory reset your iPhone 11. Without further ado, let’s move to the steps.

But first – back up

A factory reset erases everything on your phone and restores all the settings you adjusted according to your preferences back to factory defaults. This is why it is important to create a backup first. You can rest assured that all your files and data are safe, so you can erase everything and start over. You can back up your files using your phone, or you can connect it to your PC using a USB cable. The first method is much simpler. Here is what you need to do:

  • Navigate to Settings and tap on your name
  • Next, tap iCloud
  • Toggle the switches next to what you want to back up, for instance, Photos, Contacts, Messages, etc.
  • At the bottom of the page, you’ll see iCloud Backup, tap on it and turn the feature on
  • Finally, tap Back up now.

Now that you have a backup, you can erase everything. Here is how:

  • Go to Settings > General
  • Tap Transfer or Reset iPhone
  • Tap Erase all content and settings
  • Now enter your passcode
  • Finally, tap Continue to confirm the action.

The phone will need some time to erase, usually a couple of minutes. Let’s finish the process. Once it is completed, you’ll have to set up your iPhone 11 as a new device. It’s pretty simple, follow several on-screen steps, and you’ll be good to go.
